Now Suneet Varma designs jewellery for Swarovski

New Delhi, July 29 (IANS): Ace designer Suneet Varma, who has collaborated with brands like Judith Leiber, arttd'inox and Azva, has now finished designing a jewellery line for Swarovksi. The collection will be launched at the forthcoming BMW India Bridal Fashion Week starting from August 7.

“We have just done a line of jewellery for Swarovski, which will be launched at the bridal week. So it will be Suneet Varma for Swarovksi. We have done 'maang tika', 'haath phool', 'kamarband', 'bajuband',” Varma told IANS.

Designers like Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Anita Dongre, Ashima Leena, Falguni Shane Peacock, Gauri Nainika and Tarun Tahiliani will showcase their creative excellence in bridal couture here in the show that will go on till August 11.

Other names who will showcase their works include J.J. Valaya, Jyotsna Tiwari, Rina Dhaka and Shantanu Nikhil.

Sponsored by BMW with Swarovski as the fashion partner, the event will be held at DLF Emporio here.

Varma feels that it is important for designers to tap the lifestyle space rather than just focussing on designing garments.

“To survive and grow in any business especially in design, you have to be a global citizen of design. Obviously I cannot design structures because I am not an engineer, but my aesthetics can be part of interiors. Design has become such an important part of our day-to-day lives that it is a good move to enter lifestyle space,” he said.
