Mumbai, July 28 (IANS): Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle, who usually hosts non-fiction TV shows, will be seen doing a cameo in upcoming TV show “Sumit Sambhal Lega”. This will be his first fiction appearance on the small screen.
Bhogle, who has made a mark for himself in cricket commentary, will be seen in an episode which will be focused on sports. In the episode, he will be seen playing himself and will be interacting with the protagonist Sumit (played by Namit Das) on sports.
“It is very different from live television - there are no lines, it's only you and there is no pressure of remembering lines. I find doing live television is much easier but maybe because it depends on what you are used to. Here in fiction, there is this pressure of remembering your lines and delivering it with expression,” Bhogle said in a statement.
He has previously hosted shows like “Harsha Online”, “Harsha Unplugged”, “School Quiz Olympiad” and “Travel India with Harsha Bhogle”.
“Sumit Sambhal Lega”, which will be aired on Star Plus, is an Indian adaptation of popular American sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond”.
Asked about “Everybody Loves Raymond”, Bhogle said: "I watched the original sequence a couple of times for the shoot, and now I will make the time to watch it more.”
A premiere date for the show is yet to be finalised.
