Goa announces seven days mourning for Kalam

Panaji, July 28 (IANS): The Goa government on Tuesday declared a seven-day mourning following the death of former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

This has been done as "a mark of respect to the departed dignitary", an official statement said.

During the state mourning, the national flag will fly at half mast on all the buildings throughout Goa and there will be no official entertainment.

Kalam died on Monday after suffering cardiac arrest while speaking at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong.
