Mangaluru, Jul 24: Talent Research Foundation (R) under its banner published two English books translated from Kannada, Harekala Hajabba- A Social Worker of Rare Genre, written by Ismath Pajeer and 101 Ways to Serve Humanity, written by Rafiq Master at Talent Research Foundation Centre here on Saturday July 25.
Harekala Hajabba- A Social Worker of Rare Genre was released by Dinesh Amin Mattu, media advisor for chief minister on the occasion.
After releasing the book, Mattu said, “I meet Hajabba personally for the first time. Earlier I had read and heard about him. We should have some madness in life. When we are born in society and take favour from this, we should also return back our service to society”.
“It is not easy to understand sacrifice and service of Harekala Hajabba. Mukesh Ambani's daily income is eleven thousand crore but the income of Hajabba is just 200 or 300. Given the kind of income he has and to reach such heights of service, it is really commendable. Hajabba has spent half of his income donating to various schools”.
“Today the social service has become a passion. In Dakshina Kannada, we see various sections of social services done with the expectation such as washing their sins”.
“Hajabba completely sacrificed everything for the school. He even spent the money from the prize what he received for the school. He showed that a common man can reach certain heights through sacrifice and service”.
“He never read about the social reforms but the standard he set is par excellence. People who really go on service, sacrifice and truth, the present will not recognize them. But history will always remember them. History will remember people like Hajabba not Ambani”.
He also said, “We should learn the social responsibility from Hajabba. The individual who doesn't have the social responsibility, he is not a human being. The persons who have the social responsibility are the true human beings. Sensitivity for the suffering within an individual makes him real human being. We don't want the leadership of 56' inch chest but the heart which can respond to the sufferings of people. There will be good work with people with humble heart. We should learn this from Hajabba”.
He further said that the mindset of people in Dakshina Kannada has turned into commercial mind set. “Everything is done for money. We can expect change if the representatives have the hearts of Hajabba”.
“Today, social service is also becoming risky because of authoritarian people who have vested interest. In Dakshina Kannada, youths with a tendency for social service have reduced. It is called service when there is sacrifice in the service. When you are ready to lose yourself then it is called social service”.
He also said that in youths in Dakshina Kannada never opt for the government jobs. “In Dakshina Kannada people do not seem to realize the importance of government service. Very rarely we find the civil service officers from Dakshina Kannada”.
Dr Khwaja Nasiruddin dean of Kanachur Institute of Medical Science released 101 Ways to Serve Humanity.
Abdul Rauf Puthige, founder president of TRF and others were present.
