Hyderabad, July 25 (IANS): After a close battle, Ricky Donison of BPC bagged pole with a lap time of 50.352 seconds among seniors in the second round of the JK Tyre FMSCI National Karting Championship here on Saturday.
Ameya Bafna of Rayo Racing was an extremely close second to Donison, just 0.02 seconds adrift while Chittesh Mandody of Dark Don Racing was third.
Rayo Racing's Mohammed Nalwalla, who dominated practice with quickest times throughout, predictably bagged a well deserved pole position in the junior section.
Nalwala qualified on top with a lap time of 50.446 seconds ahead of Manav Sharma of BPC Racing and Mrinal Chatterjee, also of Rayo Racing.
The Micro Max category saw Chirag Ghorpade of BPC racing to pole clocking 55.851 seconds, ahead of teammate Ruhan Alva and Kunal Vinod of Meco Racing.
The racers in all three categories will take part in two heats later, the results of which will decide the grid position for the pre-final which will be followed by the final on Sunday.
