Bengaluru, Jul 21: Home minister K J George said in the legislative assembly that he is ready to handover the one digit lottery case to the criminal investigation department (CID) again if the opposition parties agree for the same.
K J George was speaking after interrupting J D (S) leader H D Kumaraswamy who mentioned one digit lottery during a debate on Monday July 20.
George said “We took the decision to entrust the probe to central bureau of investigation (CBI). But the CBI has not consented yet due to technical reasons. We are waiting with our fingers crossed. If the opposition parties agree we can give back the case to the CID”
“The government had taken action against a top police officer when the CID was investigating the matter. But as the case went to CBI after that, we could not do anything. Had the CID continued the case, we would have taken actions against the culprits by now” George added.
The opposition did not respond at all to the statement of K J George as expected.
Kumaraswamy continuing his outburst said reacting to George “You did not listen to me when I warned you about single digit lottery. If you had listened to me, the matter of even calling the CID for investigation would not have arisen”
