Seville (Spain), July 20 (IANS): Brazilian footballer Mariano Ferreira on Monday passed his medical examination to join spanish club Sevilla on a three-year contract.
The 29-year-old former French side Bordeaux defender will receive just over 3.5 million euros (nearly $3.8 million) and is scheduled to be officially presented at noon on Tuesday, reports Efe.
Mariano has played the last four seasons with Bordeaux, capping more than 150 official matches, including the victory in the Coupe de France final in 2013.
The skilled Brazilian is the eighth and final Sevilla signing of the summer window, as the team also signed defenders Sergio Escudero and Adil Rami; midfielders Michael Krohn-Dehli and Steven N'Zonzi, and strikers Yevhen Konoplyanka, Gael Kakuta and Ciro Immobile.
