Panjim, May 21: Veronique Rodrigues has been crowned as the 'MAY QUEEN 2007', a summer beauty contest organized by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation. May Queen 2007 contest was a part of the big 3-day summer festival organized by the GTDC at the Calangute Residency Garden Lawns at Calangute from May 18 to 20.

Around 15 young girls participated in the sensational event organized by the government corpration out of which 3 were selected. Veronique Rodrigues of Candolim Goa was crowned as the May Queen 2007 whereas Cristabelle D'Souza was declared as the 1st Runner-up and sister of May Queen 2007 Valerie Rodrigues was declared as the 2nd Runner-up.

The winner will fly to Srilanka by the Srilankan Airways and return back. The Runners-up have won a free stay at any of the GTDC's residencies in Goa. The awards were sponsored by Srilankan Tourism and Goa Tourism Development Corporation jointly.
