Mangaluru, Jul 16: Five days certificate course in 'Soft Skills for Professional Competency' organised by department of commerce of St Agnes college, Mangaluru in collaboration with I Brain, Bengaluru was inaugurated on Thursday July 16 at St Agnes college auditorium.
Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC joint secretary and local manager of St Agnes college inaugurated the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering Sr Dr Maria said, "Soft skills play a vital role in achieving professional success. They are a part of our personality and make who we are. In this era, where relationships are getting complex, soft skills are essential. Scoring high marks is not the only criteria of personal life. These soft skills strengthen us from within and develop our overall personality. These days companies look for smart candidates who are all rounders. These workshops on soft skills give a finishing touch to one's personality and boost the confidence of a student,"
"Soft Skills can be classified into two types like hard skills and soft skills. We all have both hard and soft skills within us. These are part of our lives. Soft skills are hard to pin down and intangible." she added.
St Agnes College Principal Sr M Supriya AC in her presidential address said that these five days are not for fun but are meant to be skill filled days. This is an opportunity to discover our skills and use them at different places like in our classroom or home and workplace”,
Ronith Nanjappa spoke about the organization and said, “IBrain teaches you how to build your future and I hope this workshop will be useful to all the students to develop their skills.”
Resource person Govind Joshi spoke about the need of women leaders in every field and the purpose of the workshop being to produce more confident women.
Head of commerce department Dr Devi Prabha welcomed the gathering. Aishwarya proposed the vote of thanks. Fazaan compered the ceremony.
