Seattle (Washington), July 16 (IANS): English football club Manchester United's goalkeeper Victor Valdes will be sold, coach Louis van Gaal said after he refused to play with the reserves.
The Spain international was a surprise omission from the squad currently in their pre- season training in the United States.
"He (Valdes) doesn't follow my philosophy. There is no place for someone like that," Van Gaal was quoted as saying by bbc.co.uk on Wednesday about his goalkeeper who was signed in January.
Valdes, however tweeted on Wednesday saying he was training hard for the upcoming season with United and even posted a photograph of himself.
"After a Hard Training Session this morning, i am working hard for this Season ! Come on You Reds !!!!," he wrote.
United's first choice custodian Spaniard David De Gea has also been heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the ongoing transfer season.
Van Gaal was also asked whether midfielder Angel Di Maria would be staying at the club, after speculation that he was unsettled in England.
"No idea," said the Dutchman. "We shall see. Now he is still a member of Manchester United."
