Valencia (Spain), July 15 (IANS): Spanish club Valencia have confirmed the signing of Brazilian defensive midfielder Danilo Barbosa from Portuguese outfit Sporting Braga on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old joins Valencia on loan for a season from the Portuguese club, while Valencia also have the option to make the contract permanent at the end of the current season, reports Xinhua.
"I am very happy to be able to sign for this great club and to get to know the ground. It is a moment that makes me very happy. Valencia are a club with a long history and I am going to do all I can for this shirt," Barbosa told the club's official website on Wednesday.
Barbosa's signing shows that the club who finished fourth in the La Liga last season are working hard to prepare for their participation in next season's Champions League.
The club has already signed Spanish club Celta Vigo's young striker Santi Mino and defender Joao Cancelo from Portuguese team Benfica, while turning the loan deals of strikers Rodrigo and Alvaro Negredo as well as that of midfielder Andre Gomes into permanent moves.
