Lagos, July 11 (IANS): Nigeria's football governing body has said it will unveil former captain Sunday Oliseh as its new head coach next week.
Spokesperson for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ademola Olajire on Friday said the federation had almost concluded talks with the former Super Eagles captain, reports Xinhua.
Olajire said an offer had been made to the player by the NFF and all the final details of the agreement had also been concluded. NFF had earlier in the week confirmed it was holding talks with Oliseh with regards to the vacant position at the Super Eagles.
NFF had last weekend terminated the appointment of another former captain, Stephen Keshi, over breaches of core terms of his contract.
The federation said Oliseh would come with a foreign technical assistant, whose job description would center on development programs.
The NFF had said coach Salisu Yusuf, who had earlier been named as the assistant coach in the interim technical crew, would be in the new team.
It however pointed out that his role would be with greater devotion to the B team.
