Mangaluru, Jul 10: The station master at Suratkal railway station was assaulted just because he wanted to talk to the person who did not have valid platform ticket. The incident happened on Thursday, July 9.
The name of the station master is Rajesh. He was treated later at the local government hospital for injuries. The assaulter was an unknown person and yet to be apprehended.
As per details, when Mumbai to Mangaluru Matsyagandha express arrived at Suratkal station, the pointsman on duty asked a youngster to show his platform ticket. But the youngster who did not have the ticket shouted at the pointsman with abusive words. He even told the pointsman that ““You should bring the ticket to me. Do not expect me to go to the counter and buy ticket.”
The station master Rajesh who had gone to change the railway signal saw the pointsman having trouble with the youngster from far and came to them. When the station master enquired about the problem, the pointsman explained the situation. The station master asked the youngster to come to his office. But the youngster instead of listening to him suddenly attacked the station master.
When the youngster tried to escape, the passengers on the platform caught him. When they were taking him to the office of the station master, the youngster somehow managed to flee from there. He ran to the parking area where his bike was sparked and sped away.
Suratkal police have registered a case on the unknown person. It is said that the bike registration number has been noted down by some people that will help in tracking the assaulter.
