Mangaluru: Tulu film 'Jugari' gets rolling, muhurat held

Mangaluru, Jul 7: The muhurat for the upcoming Tulu film 'Jugari', directed by Anand P Raju, and produced by Pammi Kodialbail and R Dhanraj under the banner of 9 o' Clock Creations was held on Thursday July 9 near Bhagavathi Temple, Kala Kunj Road, Mangaluru.

Addressing the gathering, Kishore D Shetty, film producer, Tejaswi Raj Academy Counselling member, Mangaluru University and film director Sai Krishna conveyed good wishes to the 'Jugari' film crew.

Gangadhar Shetty Alake referring to the heavy rains that poured during the muhurat, said, "I wish that the number of people who watch this movie is as much as the number of raindrops today."

Lead actor in the movie Karthik Banjan said, "I have received State Award for the Kannada film 'Rikshaw Driver' and this was because of the support I got from people. I need the same kind of support for 'Jugari' film also."

Amith Rao, another lead actor in the movie requested the crowd to support him too as it was his first film.

Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi in her address praised the people of Mangaluru for their endless support and said that they had shown their spirit in supporting 'Jugari' film by braving the heavy rains. "I am happy that Tulu film industry is bringing out a lot of movies. Anand P Raju is a very good director. He brings joy and happiness to everyone."

Former minister K Amarnath Shetty addressing the gathering said, "Lots of Tulu movies are coming up back-to-back and it is a good sign. But there should not be any kind of competition between any two Tulu films. Release films with three to four months gap in between, so that you can build the Tulu industry in the right way."

Co-producer Dhanraj welcomed the guests and also proposed the vote of thanks.

The movie is scheduled to be released in October end or in the first week of November.

Amma Shambhavi, mother of co-producer Pammi Kodialbail graced the muhurat ceremony and the clap was sounded by Mass Queen Ragini Dwivedi.

Naveen Chandra corporator, Rajesh D Shetty, Devadas Pandeshwar, Suraj Shetty and others were also present.

Actors like Karthik Banjan, Ester Noronha, Amith Rao, Naveen D Padil, Shobharaj, Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjur, Santhosh Shetty, Gopinath Bhat, Chethan Rai Mani, Satish Bandale, Saajan Shety, Shobha Rai, Aleesha and others are in the film.

    It's truly wonderful to see regional theater flourishing. Let us unite and support all those taking efforts to strengthen our Mangalorean community, in all our local languages Tulu, Konkani and Beary. It is only with our support will unity reign and make our city a pearl like no other in this country.
