Mumbai, Jul 9: St. Peter's Association (Barkur) Mumbai a well known Association in Mumbai celebrated their Patron Feast and Annual Day celebration on Sunday, 5th July, 2015 at Marol, Andheri. High mass at St.Vincent Pallotti Church, Parish Priest Fr.Paulo celebrated the festal Holy Mass on the occasion. Get together organised at same Church Hall.
At Anual General Body Meeting, President Bony Sequeira welcomed the gathering after the prayor. Jt. Secretary Arthur Mendonca read and confirmed minutes of last AGM held on 29/6/2014. Gen Secretary Eric Carvalho Addressed gathering and informed about the activities conducted in the last year and their planning of organizing "Claude Nite" a Konkani Musical Show which was booked for Diwali day on November 11th 2015, at 10.30am at Bhaidas A/c.Hall, Vile Parle West, requesting every one to support the event. Treasure John Gonsalves read out to approve and pass accounts for year ended 31st March, 2015.
As a rememberance of Association’s Silver Jubilee year, which was celebrated 2 years back, Association had formed an Educational Fund for the children of Barkur origin residing in Mumbai, Arround 5 Children who have scored high marks in SSC, HSC, Graduation and Post Graduation were honoured with cash prizes. President requested all the like minded people to donate generously so that more children will be benefitted in the near future and also expressed his gratitude to all the members of his team towards hard work for the Association.
Ivan Rebello Co-Ordinator of the Association spoke on the upcoming celebration of Platinum Jubilee of the Maryknoll Higher Pry.School at native Barkur on December 18, 2015 and requested all the Barkurians, who are the old students of that school, to come out with suggestions how to strengthen the School and make it convenient to attend the celebration.
Prominent businessmen Hary Bothello, Regi Carvalho, St Peter’s Association Barkur (Mumbai) former presidents Felix Barnes, Richard Carvalho, Henry Roche & Peter Furtado were present. Arround 150 people attended function.
Jolvin Furtado proposed the Vote of thanks. Ivan Surares compered the programme. Function was ended with the delicious food arranged by the Association.
