Washington, July 8 (IANS): Two gunmen sprang from two vans and opened fire killing three people near a university campus in the US city Baltimore, media reports said on Wednesday.
The killings near the University of Maryland's Baltimore campus took place around 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday, NBC News cited police as saying.
The dead included a male and a female, Detective Rashawn K. Strong of Baltimore Police Department said. "The second male was pronounced deceased at the scene."
A fourth victim walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound. Her condition was stated to be stable.
It was the second shooting at the location in just five days, the Baltimore Sun reported. It said shots were fired into a vehicle travelling in the same block on July 2 wounding a passenger.
Baltimore has witnessed a spike in violence since the death of Freddie Gray, a young African-American who died in police custody in April after being arrested.
After Gray's funeral, riots broke out in sections of west Baltimore.
