Panaji, May 12: Girls have once again scored over the boysin the overall pass percentage by about 11% in the Goa HSSC Examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education from March 16 to April 2, 2007.

The Examination was conducted at 13 different centres throughout the state. Candidates numbering 12164 (10787 whole and 1377 exempted) had registered for the current HSSC Examination. However 12044 Candidates appeared, out of which 8624 passed in the whole category and 461 in the exempted category, giving overall pass percentage of 75.43%.

Chairman of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary L M T Fernandes announced the results along with the secretary Dr K K Nadkarni in the conference hall of the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries at Panaji on May 12.

The streamwise pass percentages are:

Arts - 74.68%

Commerce - 77.15%

Science - 68.79%

Vocational - 83.05%

Since the Goa Education Board has stopped declaring the individual candidates topping the lists, the individual candidate lists were not immediately available.
