Margao, Jul 8 (TOI): Advocate Aires Rodrigues has filed a caveat before the high court of Bombay at Goa and also at the Margao Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) against any move by jailed Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco to attend the ensuing session of the Goa Legislative Assembly which is scheduled to commence on July 27.
The caveat application states that the applicant be heard before any order is passed on any petition filed by Mickky Pacheco.
Rodrigues has further stated that he would place all the material before the Court relying on various Supreme Court and high court judgments as to why Mickky Pacheco's bid to attend the Assembly Session should be rejected.
Pointing out that Mickky Pacheco's current priority should be to complete his six-month sentence, Rodrigues has stated that his attempts to curtail his time in jail needs to be strongly thwarted.
Stating that Mickky Pacheco, being an MLA does not entitle him to claim any exception from the effect of being in detention, Rodrigues has stated that nobody has a more sacred obligation to obey he law than the lawmakers themselves.
