Mangaluru, Jul 6: The Regional Science Centre at Pilikula here will start 'Innovation Hub', a project of Rs 1.80 crore jointly funded by the state and union government, said S A Prabhakar Sharma, member secretary of Regional Science Centre Society.
Addressing a press meet here on Monday, July 6, Sharma said, "Regional Science Centre is the first in the entire state to get this project. Innovation Hubs and Clubs would help youth and students to inculcate the innovative and creative activities. The key objective of this Innovative Hub is to identify and bring out the innovative minds in the field of science and technology. This will help them to become more innovative. These would serve as spring boards for new ideas and innovations and help the society and economy to face future challenges and meet rising aspirations of the growing population.
"The Innovation Hub will have facilities like hall of fame, innovation resource Centre, idea lab, design studio, 'Tod Fod Jod', break and make, idea box and public utilities," he added.
"This project will facilitate schools and colleges in the region to establish innovation clubs to take up various activities pertaining to science," Sharma said.
