Aquem locals give MMC 7-day deadline to clear garbage

Margao, Jul 6 (TOI): Residents of Aquem, piqued over the heaps of garbage that have formed along the roadside near the flyover at Ravanfond, have given an ultimatum of seven days to the municipality to clear it.

Led by Andrew Sequeira and Rajeev Gomes, the residents warned that they would dump garbage in front of the houses of the ward councillor and the local MLA, if the garbage is not cleared within a week.

The residents pointed out that the garbage heap is turning out to be a health hazard for the locals and that all their pleas to their elected representatives in that regard have gone unheeded.
