South Africa cricketers reach Bangladesh

Dhaka, June 30 (IANS): The South African cricket team arrived here on Tuesday almost nine hours behind schedule.

The team touched down at Shahjalal International Airport around 5.30 p.m. local time, Liaison Officer Mohammad Hasanuzzaman Jhoru told bdnews24.com. The tourists were supposed to land at 8:40 a.m but they missed the connecting flight in Dubai, causing the delay.

Bangladesh and South Africa will lock horns in two Twenty20 Internationals, three One-Day Internationals (ODI) and two Tests in a month-long series. The series starts on July 5 with the first 20-over game while the second will be played two days later at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

The ODIs are scheduled for July 10, 12 and 15 with the first two to be played in Mirpur. The third will be held at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

The first Test will start on July 21 in Chittagong before the teams return to Dhaka for the second on July 30.
