Puttur: Aged person slips, falls into well - loses life

Puttur, Jun 30: A man who went visiting a shop in the nearby market to buy eatables for his grandson, accidentally slipped while returning, and fell into a well to his doom. This incident occurred at Tirle in Konalu village on Sunday June 28.

On Sunday, Krishna Bhat (70) from Arama in Kanchana, Bajattur village, had come visiting his son, Ashok Bhat's family which has settled at Tirle. As his grandson wished to eat some delicious food, Krishna Bhat went away to the nearby town at around 8 pm. He had not returned home thereafter.

Searches conducted during the entire night did not yield any results. On Monday morning, someone saw that footwear and cigarette lighter were floating in the water of an open well near Bhat's house located in the garden. The family members grew suspicious, and called fire brigade.

Fire brigade personnel who came there succeeded in retrieving the body of Krishna Bhat from the depths of the well, it is gathered. On the basis of a report filed by Ashok Bhat, a case was registered in Uppinangady station.

The deceased is survived by mother, wife, and two sons.
