Mangaluru, Jun 28: Bharatiya Janata Party, Mangalore North Constituency organized a congratulatory convention for the gram panchayat candidates who won in recently concluded gram panchyat elections.
The ‘Congratulatory’ convention was held at Gurupura, Kaikamba convention hall here on Sunday, June 28.
After the inauguration, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “The victory of BJP in the gram panchayat elections is because people rejected Congress for its bad administration”.
Lauding the one year administration of BJP government at centre, Nalin Kumar said, “After assuming power, PM Narendra Modi as the prime minister, has increased the self esteem of this country by inviting the SAARC countries to India. Earlier, Indians in the entire world suffered without a proper and efficient leader. Narendra Modi fulfilled the needs of the Indians. The entire world now accepts Modi as an efficient leader. BJP administration has brought change in the country”.
He also briefed about the one year achievement of Modi government and about the efficiency of Indian army. He further said that union government has sanctioned Rs 5,000 crore for the state for the developmental works.
Commenting on the state government, he alleged that the state government was supporting the law breakers. In Dakshina Kannada, Congress free district should start from the Mangalore north constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, MLC, Kota Shrinivas Poojary said, “When the BJP government was in power it built 200 houses for the poor. Present Congress led government has constructed only 12 houses in two years. 2.5 lac poor people are living in tents. People have no proper sanitation facilities. 25 lac ration cards have been blocked. There is no law and order and development work is not taking place in districts. Congress government has involved in hate politics”.
On this occasion all gram panchayat members supported by BJP were felicitated.
Prathap Simha Nayak, district president of BJP said, "The state government is protecting the criminals pertaining to sand mafia and land mafia. Out of 3,399 gram panchayat candidates, 1,878 candidates are from BJP and 227 gram panchayats, 129 gram panchayat are of BJP and BJP supported candidates”.
Former minister, Krishna J Palemar, who presided the programme said, “From Mangalore North constituency, 121 BJP supported candidates were elected. Muchoor and Muthoor panchayats are completely free from Congress. From the past two years, there is no development in the state and instead government is involved in hate politics”.
Commenting on a present MLA without naming him, he said, “He is involved in inaugurating and foundation stone laying ceremony for the programmes introduced by the previous BJP government. There are no new projects from the present government".
