Kolkata, June 26 (IANS): Defending champions of Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament franchise Atletico de Kolkata on Friday signed South African midfielder Sameehg Doutie.

"Doutie has previously plied his trade with SuperSport United and Ajax Cape Town who spent the past season on loan at Bidvest Wits will now strengthen the Atletico de Kolkata line up for the second edition of the Indian Super League," the franchise said in a release.

Atletico have now announced the signing of four foreign players and has retained three foreign players from the previous edition in their lineup for the 2015 season.

Coach Antonio Lopez Habas said it was perfect platform for the 26-year-old to showcase his talent.

"Sameehg has played for the South African under-23 and under-20 national teams and has significant experience playing for ace South African clubs," Habas said in the release.

"This is an enormous opportunity for him and playing for Atlético de Kolkata will be the right platform to showcase his talent to the world and the football aficionados of Kolkata."
