Will not speak to media for six months: Parrikar

Panaji, June 20 (IANS): Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, who has faced criticism in the media for his comments on a wide range of issues, on Saturday said he would not speak to the media for six months.

Parrikar, who has been camped in Goa for the last three days, attended a government function in Mandur village, 15 km from Panaji, where he was asked to comment on a whole range of issues, including target killings in Kashmir's Sopore town and the Rafale deal.

The former Goa chief minister, who rarely shies away from offering a comment to the media, said he was not going to "speak to the media for six months".

However, Parrikar during his speech made a fleeting reference to alleged attempts by the media to excessively scrutinise the contents of his speech.

"I will not speak much. Because if I speak, people start looking for things (in it)," Parrikar added.

Parrikar's recent comments like "You have to neutralise terrorist through terrorist only" were criticised by the media.

Any sensible person will say to breed terrorist locally to counter terrorist abroad, that too a Defence Minister of India!!!?
Then why we are against terrorist around the world!!!?
These BJP Ministers are only good for all these cock and bull (stories) statements which are so shameful.
But all of them have no shame at all...like our foreign minister and CM of Rajasthan, after all that expose of their doings still denying and not resigning...

so in other words we have a Defence Minister who will remain in 'Silent Mode' and will not be answerable to the public.

Is this why 31 Pct have voted for BJP?

BJP means No Accountability .....just like Sushma and Vasundra.

Due to foolish statements like "You have to neutralize terrorist through terrorist only" pakis are now blaming India for any untoward incident which is taking place in India.

This incompetent Def. Min. clearly has a Foot-in-the-mouth problem.

    but
Silence could also mean acceptance of guilt !
In this case the latter seems true.

BJP spoke only before elections. Now their performance is below par, they can't speak. PM is Maunendra Modi as he is silent on Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje's anti national activities. If he had little shame, he would have sacked them both. Instead they are targeting AAP in Delhi.

Media only helped BJP to win the Lok Saba election by publishing the FEKU Mamas FEKU news. People as usual read and understands better than think or see and understand. Now the read and understand people repenting for voting BJP. Hence media is GOOD as well as BAD for everyone and everything.

People get soon sick of listening to non sense. It is like the saying keep your friends close but your enemies closer and that is what Modi has done considering Parrikar was not supporting Modi at the very begining .

He means to say that he would be going on detox for 6 months. He was happy in Goa , getting sozzeled on Fenny, on the prestine beaches of goa & feasting on Goan pork sausages & Beef Xacuti, What a change of scenario. As defence minister one gets defence quota of (IMFL), but a Fenny is better any day, Alas , it is not easily available in Delhi.

Its too late now minister, the damage has been already done while publicizing covert operation by embarrassing the friendly Myanmar government who helped India but wanted it to remain covert.
Now they don't want to co operate with India in any future attacks on terrorists.
Hope BJP ministers stop BOASTING & causing more harm than good in the end. This show they are inexperienced as well as ignorant how to carry out their duties while Leading the Nation.

The BJP Government will be turning like the old time "soundless movies". As true disciples of Mr. Modi, who will speak only in the political rallies but be silent at the rest of the time, the Ministers are going to follow that pattern.
