Panaji, Jun 20 (TOI): The excise department on Friday issued showcause notices against two structures owned by Goa BJP vice-president Anil Hoble along the Ribandar-Panaji causeway.
Excise commissioner Menino D'Souza, while confirming the issuance of show cause notice, said it has been done in view of a National Green Tribunal order holding the structure illegal.
D'Souza said that during the period of operation of the show cause notices, the licenses will remain suspended unless Hoble gets a relief from the court.
Hoble has already filed a petition with the Bombay high court at Goa challenging the NGT order which is likely to come up for hearing on June 23. Social activist advocate Aires Rodrigues has been allowed as an intervener in the petition.
Rodrigues has opposed Hoble's petition saying it is not maintainable and misconceived.
