Udupi: Youth dies in bike-tanker collision near Brahmavar

Udupi, Jun 12: In a tragic accident, a youth died when his bike collided with a tanker on NH 66 near supreme feeds factory here on Friday, June 12.

Sadanand (24) from Trasi is the person deceased.



Brahmavar police say that both lorry and bike were coming in the same way from Brahmavar towards Udupi.

The bike rider might have been hit from behind by the speeding lorry. Because of the impact, he would have fallen on the road where he met with the fatal accident.

The accurate details of the accident are awaited.

The case is yet to be filed in Brahmavar police station.

    Never a day passed without bike accidents and deaths in our united district. Accidents may be due to careless bike driving of youngsters or speeding heavy vehicles which hit two wheeler due to reckless driving or due to the nature of road. Is there any way to minimize accidents and save the precious life of two wheeler drivers as something has to be done from the authority or transport ministry.

    First of all RIP...gopal.
    My recent visit to manglore by car, i have concluded that 99% of bike drivers have no driving sense...they almost ride on the centre of the road and almost occupy more than containers space on road...overtaking an biker is almost equivalent to overtaking of a bullet tanker...RTO should employ strict road rules test before issuing a driving licence..to prevent loss young lives ,it is really a big loss not only for families ,even for country too...,

    This is one of the many accidents that take place practically every day in Mangalore and the D.K. District. It is common to find a speeding truck or lorry hitting a pedestrian or scooter driver.

    Hope The Police will investigate and find the actual cause of the accident and take suitable action against the erring person

    Dear friends, nothing going to happen in our twin districts unless we public start road shows. Traffic departments doing nothing means nothing. If any Traffic Department persons are sincere & honest, let them reply my questions related to Traffic Rules which modified in 1984. I challenge them openly, most of the traffic police them selves don't know complete traffic rules. I am trying my level best to reach this people. But they are not bother to accept our suggestions or service. We all should go for a road show which I am planning & contacted some NGO's too. My next holidays in July again I will try.

    NH66 is a death trap for two wheeler riders where Express bus and heavy vehicle drivers drive like formula one car race. It is sad to note that every other day someone is loosing his life on this route for the mistake of others. There is no value for human life in India

    99% youths dying in our Coastal districts under the Wheels of Heavy Vehicles. Nobody bothered. I request the youths please do not ride 2 Wheelers on Highways.
