Mangaluru, Jun 11: An incensed bull pierced the abdomen region of a woman working as fish vendor on Wednesday June 10 with its horns. Revathi (58), a resident of Meenakaliya, Bykampady, lost her life in this tragic incident.

Revathi was returning home after selling fish at the fish market in Urva in the city as usual at around 4.30 pm on Wednesday, when she saw two bulls fighting with each other in full spirit near her home. She crossed them by the side and was about to enter her house when one of the bulls suddenly pounced upon her. She suffered serious injuries in her head and abdomen region.

Although locals and auto drivers immediately took her to a hospital, doctors there could not save her.

Revathi sold fish, while her husband and a son work in country boat. Her three daughters have become inconsolable at the catastrophe that has suddenly left them high and dry. A report about the incident stands filed in Panambur police station.

Although movement of cattle in the region and occasional fights between them is common sight, so far no one had suffered because of them. On Wednesday however, the bull was so furious that it continued to kick the woman with its hooves and stub its horns into her body for sometime after attacking her. After the fight, it fought again with the bull with which it had a fight earlier, before walking towards the sea.
