Mumbai, Apr 20: Padmabhushana Vasanthadada Patil Utkrushtanagari co-operative bank award ceremony was held at Dadar west here on Wednesday April 18.
The award, instituted by the Maharastra state Co-operative Bank Association, was bagged by R S Co-operative Bank for the third consecutive year. The award was handed over to R S Cooperative Bank working president Sadanand D Nayak from Karkala. In all, 611 banks in Maharastra were in contention for the prestigious award.
In 1997 Rajapura Saraswatha Brahman who was living in Mumbai started this association and is now progressing under the guidance of Sadananda Nayak. It has been rated the best bank among all the co-operative banks.
The programme was held at Ravindra Natya Mandir on this occasion as a chief guest editor of Lokasatta Kumar Kethkar and manager of NABARD Bank Srinivas presented the awarded to Sadhananda D Nayak.
Maharastra State Co-operative bank association president Manikrao Patil and vice-president R M Khandelval were present at this occasion.
