Mumbai, June 8: “Cultural shuffles always occur in development oriented society. The undivided Dakshina Kannada district is the cradle of several cultures. However there is cultural domination these days which is dangerous” lamented Chief media advisor to the Chief Minister of Karnataka and senior journalist Dinesh Ameen Mattu.







He was addressing 'Sahitya Chintana 20', programme recently held by Karnataka Sangha, Mumbai at their Samarasa Bhavana in Mahim west.

Ameen who gave a lecture on Contemporary cultural shuffles said that there are several definitions for culture. “It is a subject for debate. It is not easy to reflect culture. Culture is a definition of love of language and life of values. Conflict is not a part of our culture. So may the Indian culture be free from friction”, he
suggested.

Dr Vyasaraya Ninjuru, advocate Vasanth Kalakoti, Mamatha Rao, Dr S K Bhavani, Dr Sunitha M Shetty, Mohan Marnad, Sushila Devadiga, Harish K Hejmadi, S T Vijayakumar Thingalaya, Surekha Devadiga, Sadaya, Gopala Trasi and others participated in the discussion programme held later.

Former president of the Sangha, Manohar M Kori presented a shawl and memento to Mattu and honored him. Honorary secretary of the Sangha, Omdas Kannangar welcomed, gave a key note address and compered the programme. Dr Bharathkumar Polipu proposed Vote of thanks.
