Puttur: Worker vanishes with Rs 5.5 lac cash belonging to owner

Puttur, Jun 8: A worker who was sent to bring money from a shop has disappeared with Rs 5. 5 lac cash belonging to his owner, as per the police complaint lodged.

In a complaint lodged at Puttur town police station, areca nut merchant from Kaniyoor Abdul Karim has said that Sachin who was working in his areca nut shop has not returned with the cash for which he was sent. Abdul Karim had sent Sachin from Kaniyoor to Amina Supari Garbal shop in Puttur Padil to bring cash. Sachin did not return but phoned at 10.30 am to say that he had a breakdown of his bike.

When Sachin did not return till afternoon Abdul phoned Sachin’s mobile phone which was found switched off. Later Abdul phoned Amina Supari Garbal and learned that Sachin had collected Rs 5. 5 lac cash from them as arranged.

Sachin’s father did not have any solution for the problem when he was informed about his son’s disappearance.

Puttur town police have registered theft and missing complaints.
