Kolkata, June 3 (IANS): Khalsa English High School held the centre stage as all their teams who competed on Wednesday entered the quarter-finals of the 43rd K.C. Mahindra All India Invitation School Rowing Championship at the Lake Club course of Rabindra Sarovar here on Wednesday.
While English Khalsa beat Seventh Day Adventist to enter the last eight stage of the Senior Boys Fours of the tournament, their "a" and "b" teams in Senior Boys Double Scull moved into quarter-finals, defeating New Horizon High School and Seventh Day Adventist "b" respectively.
The girls' races of the day were entirely dominated by former winners Modern High School, a dominant force in the girls section of school rowing in the state.
In the Senior Boys Fours event, St. Lawrence defeated National High School and Seventh Day Adventist got the better of Army Public School to move into the last eight stage.
In the Double Scull event in the Senior Boys category, National High School made it to the quarter-finals, defeating St. John High School.
