The rescued 26-year-old Ravi had gone missing three months ago. He was formally reunited with his family in a press meet by Vishu Shetty on Wednesday, June 3
Narrating Ravi's story to media persons, Vishu Shetty said that Ravi was found at a workshop near the highway in an unconsciousness condition on March 28.
Vishu Shetty had admitted him to the district hospital in Udupi. Ravi recovered in ten days and became physically fit and healthy, but was unable to speak. If anyone forced him to speak, he would only cry. He had escaped thrice during treatment and was found twice on the street.
After 63 days of continuous medication, he returned to normal. Vishu Shetty then succeeded in finding his address with the help of doctors, police, friends’ group, and social welfare department. One of his friends, Pradeep, took care of all his medical expenses.
After persistent efforts of three months, Ravi was finally reunited with his family. He is the son of Ninga Shetty and Sushilamma and has three sisters. It is learnt that he had gone to his sister’s house in Bengaluru to attend a wedding ceremony. After that he went missing.
Ravi’s father expressed his happiness on being reunited with his son.
Vishu Shetty further said, "We should be humane and extend a helping hand to the poor and the needy and bring them to the mainstream. There is no adequate facility to treat neurotic problems in the district hospital, hence Ravi had to be treated in Dharwad."
