New Delhi, June 3 (DHNS): The Congress high command has asked Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to complete the process of appointing directors and members to boards and corporations, before reshuffling the State Cabinet.
During the chief minister’s recent meeting with party vice president Rahul Gandhi, it was learnt that the latter had advised Siddaramaiah to complete the process of appointing directors and members to boards and corporations on a priority basis, before taking up Cabinet reshuffle.
As the party wants to accommodate around 700 workers in various boards and corporations, the State government must complete the exercise at the earliest, Rahul reportedly suggested to the chief minister. Soon after this, the State leaders were free to take up the expansion of the Cabinet, the high command is learnt to have said.
Though the government appointed chairmen to boards and corporations around six months ago, it is yet to appoint members to these State government undertakings. The chief minister is likely to visit the national capital early next week and discuss all these issues again with the high command, sources said. Earlier, Siddaramaiah had said he would reshuffle his Cabinet once the gram panchayat polls concluded on Tuesday.
