Mangaluru, Jun 1: "Tulu film 'Dhand', which conveys an important message against drug abuse, is running successfully in theatres and has won much appreciation from audience. The movie has also appealed to the youth. But unfortunately, some people are making an effort to create negativity by spreading rumours in social media like WhatsApp and Facebook," said Shodhan Prasad, producer of 'Dhand' movie.
The movie, produced under the banner of Sandhya Creations, released in 12 threatres across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on May 29.
Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday June 2, Shodhan said, "Everyone has the right to express their opinion on the film, but in this case the entire story of the film has been divulged in social media, with an intention to reduce enthusiasm for the film and keep people away from theatres.
"This issue has already been brought to the notice of the police commissioner. The police commissioner has assured of taking appropriate measures in this regard," he added.
He further said, "Film actress Shilpa Suvarna who has acted in 'Dhand' film has got an opportunity to work in another movie. But an unknown person (named 'Sharath' in fake account) has created a Facebook account and is sending messages against the actress in an effort to make her lose this opportunity. The police commissioner has also promised to take action against this. This kind of attitude has hurt the entire cast and crew of the film."
Actress Shilpa Suvarna, assistant director Surakshitha Shetty and others were present.
