Kasargod, Jun 1: The police team has arrested two persons involved in the theft of precious idols from a temple.
Mohammed Kabir (25) from Chattanchal and Sadan (45) from Kanhangad Kammadam are the persons arrested. Another accused Thazuddin from Mangad is still at large.

The gang of three had stolen the idols from Sri Bhagavathi temple in Kanhangad Kammadam on May 25. They had taken the idols in a gunny bag and had opened it in a deserted place to see whether all those idols contained gold.
Then Ahmed Kabir phoned his friend in Kannur, who said that they would get good price for the stolen idols. The idols contained rare combination of five precious metals which made the idols invaluable in price.
The gang went to Bengaluru, Mysuru and other places in Karnataka in search of buyers for the idols, police have leant from investigations.
The police had obtained the close circuit cameras installed near the temple and checked them for more information on the thieves. Accordingly the team of the police acted to establish the identity of the thieves and managed ultimately to apprehend them.
Ahmed Kabir has been involved in many cases, as per police sources.
The police team did the operations under the guidance of police superintendent Dr A Srinivas.
