Pharrell Williams buys $7 mn Hollywood home

Los Angeles, May 30 (IANS): Singer Pharrell Williams has purchased a new home in the Hollywood Hills for $7.14 million.

It is designed by internationally-renowned architect Hagy Belzberg.

The 11-time Grammy-Award winner snapped up the property towering over the Sunset Strip, a renowned area for music history, for almost $2 million less than the price tag. The property was listed in July for $9 million, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The listing read: "Designed by internationally-renowned architect Hagy Belzberg, Skyline Residence is a rare example of world class architecture representing one of the most important pieces of contemporary architecture built in LA in the last decade.

"Published extensively and recipient of numerous architectural awards, this gated, modern compound has a 4 bedroom open-floor plan plus a 1 bedroom, detached guesthouse. Spectacular city views from every room with amazing infinity pool and outdoor theatre.

"Floor to ceiling glass windows throughout. Large lot on over 1.5 acres. This home is one of a kind, characterised by its distinctive single-folded plate roof."

The singer, who has collaborated on a sustainable fashion line for African retailer Woolworths and is concerned with "saving the planet", will be able to take advantage of the eco-friendly design, created with locally-sourced building materials.

The 42-year-old star and his friends can even enjoy watching movies from a big projector screen on top of the motor court, apart from swimming in an infinity pool, which is the length of the property.
