Madrid, May 29 (IANS): Spain football team coach Vicente del Bosque said on Friday that a possible signing of Rafael Benitez as the new head coach for Real Madrid would be a "good solution".
"The arrival of Benitez seems very good and a good solution since he is a prepared man who will try to make Real Madrid better. I knew him for years, he had the idea of engaging the professional world and for that he was prepared," del Bosque said, reports Efe.
When asked about Real Madrid's current situation, with the dismissal of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti just a few days ago, del Bosque maintained his typically jovial disposition and refused to comment.
He did, however, praise Ancelotti. "I appreciate him. He's done a great job, but is demanding and has taken tough decisions. He's always looked for Real Madrid, but has personal ego," he said.
Del Bosque, who has recently gambled on Iker Casillas and David de Gea as his first and second choice goalkeepers for the national team, did not comment on rumours that the two would perhaps meet with Real Madrid.
