Goa governor urges media to aggressively take up Swachh Bharat campaign


Panaji, May 29 (IANS): Goa governor and Swachh Bharat ambassador Mridula Sinha on Friday exhorted media persons to take up the campaign aggressively and suggested ways and means in which to address the issue of garbage management in the state known for tourism.

"There was a suggestion which came from the media representatives about adopting Panaji city which the governor said could be considered seriously," the spokesperson said.

In the meeting, Sinha interacted with representatives of the Goan media, across print, television and entertainment categories at Raj Bhavan here and also advised them to dedicate public hoardings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pet campaign as well as take up cleanliness campaigns near respective media offices, a Raj Bhavan spokesperson said.

Sinha has been interacting with various professional groups as well as key influential individuals in the state in a bid to promote cleanliness in Goa, as part of her Swachh Bharat ambassadorial chore.
