Hannover, May 29 (IANS): Michael Frontzeck remains Hannover 96's head coach as the football club has agreed on a two-year contract extension.
After securing the top-flight status for next season, Hannover on Thursday rewarded coach Frontzeck with a contract extension until June 2017, reports Xinhua.
"Michael Frontzeck has done a good job. Therefore we want to continue the cooperation with him. He motivates the team and embodies enthusiasm," Hannover club president Martin Kind said.
The 51-year-old coach took the reins after replacing Tayfun Korkut at struggling Hannover in April. Frontzeck guided relegation-threatened Hannover from the 15th to the 13th place of the Bundesliga standings.
Besides the contract extension of coach Frontzeck, Hannover announced that the club's director of sport Dirk Dufner fulfills his contract until June 2016.
