Mumbai, May 28: Movie producer Vashu Bhagnani's son Jackky Bhagnani hopes his latest movie Welcome to Karachi, will repeat the astounding success that was witnessed by his dad's movie Biwi No 1. Jackky who became a household name with the movie 'Faltu' in 2011, is back with a movie that he hopes will open to packed theatres and make a 100% profit just like the Salman Khan and Karishma Kapoor starrer way back in 1999.

Categorising the movie as a family entertainer, Jackky also said, “We are releasing our film on May 28 – a Thursday, and not May 29, a Friday, which is usually the norm. We chose this day because it holds a lot of significance for us. Exactly 16 years ago, my father’s production, Biwi No. 1 released on the same date. The Cricket World Cup was also on around the time. Everyone told my father not to release the film but he was confident that people will still watch it. The film became that year’s highest grosser. So we, too, are releasing our film on this day.”

Arshad Warsi who is also part of the cast, during the promotion of the film said, "My character is that of an ex-navy man and he is accident prone. Somehow, he reaches Karachi without any documents or papers. So you can imagine what follows. It is a comedy with political facts, but they have been shown in a very light way. There is no finger-pointing. It is a very light and fun film, but the facts are real and not fabricated."

Leading lady Lauren Gottlieb said, “The film is a complete entertainer and my role is not just a filler in the film.” The movie has mostly been shot in Bradford, Birmingham and Wales. Interestingly the lead actors were mistaken for real Taliban terrorists and the shoot was interrupted by Scotland Yard officials. Also the entire movie set of the airport was stolen in Birmingham which again put a break on things and cost the producers quite a pretty penny.
