London, May 27 (IANS): Legendary manager Alex Ferguson said Chelsea and its current coach Jose Mourinho will continue dominating English football in years to come after the 'Blues' won this season's Premier League title.
Mourinho was named Manager of the Season after guiding Chelsea to their first league title in five years, having spent a Premier League record of 274 days in first place of the standings, while also winning the League Cup.
The Portuguese did not collect the award in person on Tuesday as it clashed with Chelsea's end-of-season gala but his former rival Ferguson was full of praise for the recipient.
"He is a successful man, a winner. He deserves the award. He had the best squad. John Terry played every game. Champions will always be the ones to beat. Jose knows his squad well. He's settled. It's going to be a very successful few years for Chelsea,” former Manchester United manager Ferguson was quoted as saying by goal.com on Wednesday.
The 73-year-old added, "There's a change in Jose, he's looking at long term and what's coming through, the next few years are going to be sore for us."
