Munich, May 20 (IANS): German football club Bayern Munich is interested in signing England's Raheem Sterling as manager Pep Guardiola seeks an alternate for the ageing Frank Ribery, who played only 15 league games during the season due to injuries.
Sterling, now with Liverpool, is the leading candidate to join the Bavarian club. Bayern is ready to offer about 100 million euros for the deal, which may face competition by other clubs wanting to sign Sterling, such as by Real Madrid, Juventus or Chelsea, Efe reported on Wednesday.
Besides a substitute for Ribery, Bayern is on the market for a right back and defensive midfielder.
