New Delhi, May 20: Cricketer Virat Kohli who met up with his girlfriend actress Anushka Sharma in the middle of an IPL match has been left off after it was determined that his actions only amounted to a minor breach of the BCCI code.
As per the predetermined course of action the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit was informed of the incident. The unit was in charge of providing cover against corruption for the IPL matches and its chief, Mr Ravi Sawani let Virat off with just a warning.
Called Players and Match Officials Area (PMOA) it states that, "Whilst outside of the PMOA, the Player, Player Support Personnel or Match Official must only communicate with those third parties with whom he/she has permission to communicate and only engage in such communications as are necessary for the completion of such purposes as have been approved."
Virat was seen interacting with Anushka Sharma at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium stands during a break due to rain. This incident occured in the middle of a match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Delhi Dare Devils.
Given that they had got a lot of flak, the last time Anushka was at a match and Virat barely made any runs, the couple seem to have to have upped the ante with this new antic.
