New Delhi, May 19 (IANS): Space Behind The Yellow Room - a four member, post metal rock band from Bangalore will perform in Singapore at Music Matters Live 2015 - Asia’s premiere independent music festival - on May 23.

Pepsi UnBox, the beverage brand's search for emerging music talent and part of the Global Pepsi Music Accelerator programme, which was conducted in association with Pepsi MTV Indies, announced the band as the winner of a nationwide hunt for the next big indie band. It managed to beat 450 other bands to be adjudged the winner.

“Pepsi UnBox was conceptualised with a vision to give true talent the right platform to be nurtured and grow exponentially. When the judges heard the variations that Space Behind The Yellow Room managed to bring to the table whether with their vocals or with their guitar and bass, they were truly impressed.

“This global platform at Music Matters will not only give them an opportunity to perform to an international audience, but equally for them to learn from some of the biggest music icons in the world,” Ruchira Jaitly, senior director (marketing - social beverages), PepsiCo India, said in a statement.

Space behind the Yellow Room consists of lead vocalist and drummer Shoumik Biswas, guitarists Devasheesh Sharma and Nihar Apte and Eshaan Sood on bass.
