Chennai, May 15 (IANS): Indian Super League (ISL) team Chennaiyin FC has retained the services of its top home-grown players for this year's tournament.
They retained strikers Balwant Singh, Jeje Lalpekhlua, defenders Dhanachandra Singh, Abhishek Das and midfielders Harmanjot Singh Khabra, Jayesh Rane for the upcoming season.
Chernnaiyin reached the semi-finals of the tournament last year, losing to finalists Kerala Blasters.
Balwant, Jeje and Dhanachandra are playing in currently playing for Mohun Bagan while Harmanjot Singh Khabra and Abhishek Das are plying his trade for East Bengal in the I-League, reports goal.com on Friday.
Rane is playing for Mumbai FC.
Balwant was the first Indian to score a goal in the inaugural ISL last year. Jeje scored four goals in 13 games for the Abhishek Bachchan co-owned side.
The 2015 ISL will kick-off in September and stretch till December 2015.
