London, May 14 (IANS): Manchester United Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes has said the atmosphere in the English football club's locker room "is very nice" and being next to compatriots Juan Mata and Ander Herrera in the changing room "has helped him a lot".
"It is very friendly here. All the staff always help you and also help your family too, so it is a very nice atmosphere," Valdes said according to the club's official website on Wednesday, reports Efe.
The 33-year-old Spanish international joined the team last January from Spanish side FC Barcelona, splitting with the club last summer after his contract expired.
"It's a friendly group and an easy group for enabling you to adapt when you are here and your English is maybe not so good! So it's great to be next to Mata and Herrera in the changing room," the Spaniard added.
The Catalan player, who is yet to play in the first team of his new club, praised the club's Aon Training Complex.
He also said he would choose teammates Wayne Rooney, Mata, Andreas Pereira and Herrera if he had to pick a five-a-side team, as he has "special love" for them.
