Mangalore, Mar 29: Seven students of Manipal Institute of Computer Education (MICE) here have been selected in the state-level NTS Examination conducted by DSERT in 2006, said NTSE training programme coordinator Severine Rosario while addressing a press meet here on Thursday March 29.
The seven students are among the eight selected from the city. While six of them Anish Bhat, Arpitha Rajan, Nishan Shetty G, Sudeep S Bhat, Suhas Rohit Pai, Vikramaditya and Vishwanath K B were selected in the class X category, Namratha Pai N was chosen in the class VIII category. Namratha Pai was the only student selected in her category from the city.
In Udupi district, 20 out of the total 28 students selected have received training at MICE. Out of these, 11 among the 15 selected are from class X while 9 among the 13 selected are from class VIII.
The NTS Exams are conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Every year, 1000 students are awarded scholarships of Rs 500 a month till they complete PhD.
The selected students will sit for the final round of the examinations in May.
