Berlin, May 12 (IANS): FSV Mainz has extended the contract of midfielder Yunus Malli until 2018, the Bundesliga club has announced.
The Under-21 German international inked a three-year contract extension on Monday that keeps him at the "Nullfuenfer" until June 2018, reports Xinhua.
"Yunus Malli joined the club four years ago as a 19 year old talent. With diligence and patience he worked his way up to become a regular in the Bundesliga. We are convinced that he can still evolve his skills and delighted that he will continue with us," Mainz manager Christian Heidel said.
Malli joined Mainz in 2011 to score 12 goals in 77 Bundesliga appearances.
"I feel very well at Mainz and I have yet no reached the end of my development. I am sure that I can take the next step with Mainz and coach Martin Schmidt," the 23-year-old midfielder said.
Mainz currently occupy the 12th position in the points table. They play against newly-promoted Cologne on home soil in the 33rd round of Bundesliga on Saturday.
