Kundapur, Mar 27: Union labour minister Oscar Fernades has said that he would always support the cause of upgradation of Byndoor railway station.
He was speaking to the reporters after visiting Byndoor railway station on Monday March 26. He said that if the railway station is upgraded it would benefit the large number of devotees who throng to Shri Kollur Mookambika Temple. "Along with this upgradation of Byndoor railway station would also realize a long-cherished dream of the locals," he added.
Byndoor MLA K Gopal Poojari and Byndoor Railway protest committee leaders spoke on behalf of the people. They thanked the minister for his support through which the railway ministry has finally agreed to stop express and long distance trains at Byndoor station. "Accordingly two express trains were to stop at Byndoor. But owing to some technical snags this has not yet put in practice," said Gopal Poojari.
